If you are going to attend the Laguna Seca Moto GP Race, please come by to meet the Pikes Peak team. We will be in Ducati Island during the weekend along with the fast and beautiful Multistrada Race motorcycles.
Both Greg Tracy and Alexander Smith will be there next weekend showing off their race bikes. Please come by to say hello, we’d love to meet you there.

Later this weekend, I plan to finally get to posting some more photos from the race week! ~Becca
Well, most of the team has left Colorado now and starting making our way back home. I think I can speak for us all when I say that Greg and Alexander did an amazing job on Sunday. The course conditions were challenging – the rain was threatening, and just before the start we heard that there was snow at 16 mile. But, the rain held off, the boys had a great start and better finish.
It was a fantastic week, and we couldn’t be more proud of the entire team. It was many days of hard work and little sleep, and it took a tremendous effort from us all. I’d like to come back and post a few more photos before we call it done. We had terrific photograhers with us, and didn’t have a chance to share some of the really great pictures they took. But for today, I’d like to post a video to share with you – it was made entirely on the newest Apple Iphone 4. ~Becca
So far today, the sky has been clear, not a cloud to be seen, despite the forecast for thunderstorms today….
The cars are shattering records. Just a few minutes ago an electric car went off the line with no sound except for the chirp of his tires as he left a slick of rubber at the start line. 13 minutes later his crew told me that they set a new class record and beat the old one by over a minute. We’re looking for that kind of run!
Greg cut his tires this morning in the pit, and someone wrote a note to him on the side wall – echoing the sentiments of the entire crew.
Go Fast!
Right now the schedule looks like we will run between 1:00 and 1:30. The bad news is that yesterday, the rain came in aroun 2:00.
The clouds are starting to arrive
Both Greg and Alexander are laid back about the possible weather. But if you have any influence there, maybe you can put in a good word for us? ~Becca
Up extra early today – we were at the gate to the mountain before 3:00am, but that wasn’t early enough – there was quite a line to get in. Only competitors could enter before 4:00am, but even so, the line extended to the highway.
At first light, the vans are unloaded and the tents set up
The Team pits today are located in the super awesome Ducati Adventure tent. It’s a Bedouin style tent which amply houses the team bikes and the essential espresso machine.
Ducati Tent
The crowd has really swelled – there are more spectators here than I remember from years past. Right now the riders are off at the riders meeting, and the Ducati tent is full of people drinking espressos, picking up posters and admiring the motorcycles.
Cheers!
The cars in the car pit area just behind us are beginning to warm their engines. There is a rumble in the air, and the excitement is really building. The motorcycles start after the cars, so we won’t run for a couple of hours but there is a huge sense of excitement under the tent. ~Becca
Wow, the week has flown by – I’ve run short of time today. I am 32 minutes past the mandatory team bedtime. So just a quick note to let you know I plan to provide several updates tomorrow as the day progresses. If all goes well, we might be running shortly after noon.
In the early morning hours, I will bring you up todate on the adventures of today, then as the race begins I hope to be able to provide updates on the race course action.
Good Night for now. Wake up time? Bet you can guess by now…. 3:00am. ~Becca
